North Shields Quayside
The quayside is a place you will definitely like. It's right at the mouth of the river Tyne. In fact, it's so nice, When we got married, our photographer took some of our wedding photographs there.
The main car park is at the beach where there are public toilets. Or if you wish, you can also park along the quayside where the fishing boats are moored.

To the right of the beach there is a large statue of a fisherman sitting down. The statue is called, Fiddler's Green Sculpture, by Ray Lonsdale. You could take a photo, as many people have. You could have someone standing in front of it, or even your dog.

Also, if you like things that are unusual, there is also a building with very unusual windows. This stands across from the statue. I took a few photos of it. I also know that other photographers have also photographed this building.

The quayside
It's a really nice walk along the quayside where you can see the fishing boats. It's a lovely sight to see.
Along the quayside there are several nice cafes', bars and restaurants where you can get drinks, snacks and meals. If you love fish and chips, there two really nice fish restaurants,. One is called, Waterfront and the other is called, Seaview Fish & Grill. Both serve delicious fish and chips and are extremely popular.

Something worth seeing
Straight across the road from the Waterford fish and chip restaurant there is a wall mural worth seeing. It's of a fisherman.
In all, it's a nice place to see. It's very popular with people of all ages. We saw people out with their children. There were also people there with their dogs.
Popular little beach
The small beach is lovely. When the sun is out, it is very popular. You can also follow the path next to the beach. This takes you along the sea front up to the headland.

If you're there at the right time, you will see the Amsterdam ferry coming in or on the way out.

Next to the beach there is a little kiosk where you can get drinks and also ice-cream. The ice-cream is delicious. The owner is also very friendly. She is happy to stand having a chat as long as it's not busy. We've enjoyed many a chat there.
