What To See
You have a choice to follow the path left or right. It doesn't matter which one you choose as each will take you full circle around the lady.
If you take the path to the left, it takes you past the lady's head.
If you walk along the path to your right, it takes you along the right-hand side of the lady and eventually down to her feet. This path takes you past the three lakes.
When you're part way along, you can see the lady's face. There is a path with a gentle incline which takes you up to it. So this means people who use a wheelchair can also go up. When you're at the top, you get wonderful views across Northumberland. You can see for miles.
As you walk around, you see hills that make up each part of the lady. Each hill has a path that goes up to the top. Although the hills are steep, the paths don't go straight up. The paths go up in a spiral fashion that makes it an easy climb.

Our Favourite Part
The part we enjoyed the most was walking around the lakes. It looks wonderful. The water is usually calm which means it has a lovely reflection of the lady. Great if you want to take a lovely photo. There are always ducks on the lake too which makes it even more idyllic.

Conclusion
This place is an ideal day out for you, family and friends. Plus, it's also great for walking your dog.
The Lady of the North is a lovely place to go. It has beautiful scenery and three lovely lakes next to each other which always has ducks. It really is idyllic.
It is dog friendly and we have taken our dog Chip there several times.
It's also ideal for disabled people. There are level paths all the way around the lady, apart from the hills of course.
Plus, there is a nice cafe' where you can enjoy a nice drink and snack. There are toilets next to it and they also have a wheelchair ramp up to the door.
They allow people to bring picnics but urge you to take rubbish home with you. However, they don't allow barbecues on the site.
The Lady of the North is a very large sculpture which actually forms part of the Northumberland landscape. The lady is in a lying down position. It was constructed using tonnes of rock from the nearby Shotton mine. (Now closed.)

When We Arrived
When we arrived, we parked in the large car park, which is free. Hooray for free parking.
When you walk up, the first thing you see is the cafe'. The path takes you through the trees, which makes it a very nice walk.
At the top, you see two hills in front of you which has paths you can walk up. There is also a map which shows you the lady, the lake and the paths around it.
