The breakfast
The next day, we went down for breakfast. Once again, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We were taken to a table and given a menu. There were several cooked breakfast options and hot drinks to choose from. There were also tables containing various serials, yoghurts, croissants, fresh juice, etc.
We never felt rushed like some places make you feel and we enjoyed relaxing while having our tea, coffee and breakfast.
The must see Giant's Causeway
I remember the first place Debbie wanted to see was the Giant's Causeway. So we decided to do this on our first full day there.
Wow! What a place to see. This is a place looked after by the National Trust.
When we arrived, we were greeted and told parking is £12 unless you are a National Trust member. Gladly, we showed our memberships cards. (So well worth becoming a member.)
We parked the car and made our way over to the visitor centre where there is a cafe, gift shop and toilets.
From there we made our way to the famous stones. We were told you could walk down the hill or get a small bus down and back. This costs £1 for non-members but free for NT members. As Debbie struggles with hills, we decided to take the little bus.
There were plenty of people, as you'd expect, but it wasn't crowded or too busy.
Day 2
The rocks are definitely an unusual sight. Plenty of
people were walking over them and we also joined in.
An interesting fact is that the stones go under the sea
and appear again on the west coast of Scotland. Bit
far for us to swim eh? But should you go to Scotland,
you may want to look this place up.
Not much more for us to say really. Because the real
experience is seeing it for yourself. Definitely one we
recommend going to.
